Mr. McGonagle is a Partner in Ares Real Estate, where he focuses on U.S. industrial real estate equity portfolio management. Prior to joining Ares in 2021, he was a Senior Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of Black Creek Industrial Fund L.P., an investment vehicle sponsored by Black Creek Group, where he oversaw all aspects of fund operations, including strategy, due diligence, acquisitions and developments, accounting and reporting, and fundraising. Previously, Mr. McGonagle held multiple leadership roles including Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at MacDermid Inc., Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Vistar Corporation, Managing Director and Co-Head of U.S. Merchant Banking Group at Babcock & Brown L.P., and Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse. Mr. McGonagle currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation, and for the Buell Foundation. Additionally, he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), holding a variety of council positions. Mr. McGonagle holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Economics, and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
